6 Concerts College Students Should Attend This October

By Allie Mitchell on October 12, 2016

There is never a time called “concert season” because honestly, concerts are always around and always will be. Whether or not you like those particular concerts is your own personal choice, but they are always around.

Since it is October, there are concerts, music festivals and just general fun things happening all the time — things you may not have even realized! Most people only really hear/know about upcoming concerts due to word of mouth, social media, or because they are obsessed with a particular artist and know every living detail about their tour dates (i.e. every hardcore One Direction fan ever known to man).

Yes of course school is in session for most and others have tough work schedules, but sometimes it is good to take a break and just be free for a while. Entertain yourself with the live music of your most favorite artist ever, by yourself or invite some friends along.

Getting concert tickets ahead of time would be smart, seeing as more popular artists have shows that sell out fast and you don’t want to miss out on something that could have been the highlight of your month. On the other hand, you don’t want all the good seats to be taken and then you are forced to sit in the back, like ALL the way in the back where you can’t see anything and you are basically shuffled into the back, and really in the back of your head you are regretting this decision thoroughly.

No one wants that, so make sure if you see a concert you like that you grab the best (or most affordable) tickets that you can. This article is here to present some of the concerts that college students, let alone anyone, would not want to miss this month. October has some good stuff ahead of it.

1. Zac Brown Band: This hit country band will be at the Southern Ground Amphitheater on Oct. 15 in Fayetteville, Ga. You don’t have a lot of time for this concert, so I would look into getting your tickets now or if you are waiting to get enough money, do not wait for too long.

2. Mac Miller: This rapper will be at the infamous Atlanta Tabernacle on Oct. 17. Although most (including myself) haven’t heard from Mac Miller in a while, I can assure you that he is still relevant in many loyal fans’ hearts. If you are one of those loyal fans, then get your butt to his concert.

3. Sabrina Carpenter: On Oct. 20, this Disney starlet is going to be at The Loft at Center Stage in Atlanta. She is, yes, part of the Disney channel and not every college students’ dream concert, but I can honestly say that I have met so many students who secretly have obsessions with Disney, Cartoon Network, or anything else we deem only for children. So be on the lookout for her concert, you know, if you are interested. I won’t tell, I promise.

4. Florida Georgia Line: Oct. 22 is when this top country duo will be coming your way. They have so many catchy hits, that whether you like them or not you know at least some of the words to “Cruise.” All the country loving fans will be mooning over the idea of seeing them in concert, so get your tickets early because I can guarantee this will be sold out.

5. Alessia Cara: This hot new artist is coming to the Tabernacle on October 25 and you seriously don’t want to miss it. Her songs “Here” and “Wild Things” have made it to the top of the charts and she is seriously going places. She has a large following and I can bet you are probably one of her loyal followers. Get tickets now!

6. Adele: Ah, the wonderful woman, Adele. On October 28 and 29, this icon will be in Atlanta at the Philips Arena. Everyone is going to want to be at this concert and you should be one of those people. People freak out at Beyonce concerts and they pretty much do the same thing for Adele.

When she released “Hello” the entire world did a happy dance just because she was making music again after what felt like forever. You will want to be in the same place as this woman at least for one night.

Of course these are not all the concerts that are arriving the month of October, so if the one you are waiting for is coming up, make sure to look out for it.
